CONGRATULATIONS and thank you to Bruce Fox for this post...

This week, celebrations were held to mark 100 years of Primary School Rugby League in Queensland. Each of the 12 regions was asked to compile a 'Team of the Century' list from past players who competed at a State Championship. From those 12 lists, a Queensland 'Team of the Century' was named.

8 of those gentlemen were present at the dinner - Barry Muir, John Macdonald, Des Morris, Wally Lewis, Bob Lindner, Gary Larson, Steve Renouf and John Lang. What a pleasure to see them up close!

Each region was also tasked with selecting one person who has made a significant contribution to Primary School Rugby League over a long period of time. 12 medallions were minted bearing the names of those recognised and each year for the next hundred, those medallions will be presented to an outstanding player from the relevant region at the conclusion of the State Championship.

I can't help wondering how many Origin or Test players, in 20 years time, will have a Bruce Fox Medallion in their trophy cabinet!

Feeling pretty chuffed tonight after presenting the first to a worthy recipient this afternoon. Met East and South Coast drew 6 - 6 in today's Grand Final!
